Layoffs are down, but will employment go up?

Careers in the News: In recent economic news, the Labor Department reports that unemployment claims are down to the lowest level since September 2008.  While news of the claim decrease indicates a potentially positive 2010 job market, experts are weary as hiring remains weak.  And although overall claims are low, people are still seeking emergency benefit compensation in large numbers.  The real question, though, is whether employment figures will correspondingly rise.
