New Year’s forecast: The gift of employment

Careers in the News: According to a new report provided by high-profile career counseling firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, job seekers may have much to look forward to in 2010.

Layoffs have been steadily dropping off since January 2009, and hiring is up as well.  We are currently in the midst of a common recession phenomenon – when jobless folks give up on their search (as many did in 2009), publicly gathered unemployment rates decrease, hence motivating those same people to again pursue their hunt.  Upon their second attempt, the market is less inundated with competitors, and the probabilities of finding a job can be far higher.
